Malhar is one of the most popular college festivals in Mumbai, India
hosted by the students of St. Xavier’s College. It is an
inter-collegiate youth festival, and has been in existence since 1979.
It is held in August during the monsoon and involves teams from about 90
other colleges in Mumbai and 30 colleges across India, with a plethora
of contests in the Literary, Performing and Fine Arts categories, along
with a number of Workshops on different themes. A recent addition to
Malhar is Conclave, the enriching and intellectually stimulating side of
Malhar. Every year the festival draws about 30,000 people.
