Indira Gandhi National Open University OPEN Management Admission Test

Indira Gandhi National Open University School of Management Studies conducts IGNOU MBA Programme OPENMAT examination twice a year for admission into the Various programs offered by the University.

Courses Offered

• Master of Business Administration (MBA)
• Diploma in Management (DIM)
• Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDIM)
• Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management (PGDHRM)
• Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Management (PGDFM)
• Post Graduate Diploma in Operations Management (PGDOM)
• Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing Management (PGDMM)

The MBA Programme consists of 21 courses in all. These comprise of:

• All the courses in PGDIM (Eleven Courses) ie MS-1 to MS-11
• Five courses from any one of the specialization streams
• Compulsory Courses (MS-91, MS-95) and one elective course (MS-92/93/94/96/97)
• Project Course (MS-100) equivalent to 2 courses.

Eligibility Criteria

•  Graduation in any discipline with 50% marks for General Category and 45% marks for reserved category;
  OR
  Bachelor’s degree with 3 years of supervisory/managerial/professional experience.
• Clearance of OPENMAT conducted by IGNOU. The candidates who have successfully cleared the entrance test for admission into Management Programme conducted by institutions like CAT, MAT and State level tests need not appear in OPENMAT.

Test Pattern

The duration of OPENMAT will be 3 hours and it will contain 200 multiple choice questions from the following sections:
a) General Awareness-30 questions
b) English Language-50 questions
c) Quantitative Aptitude-50 questions
d) Reasoning-70 questions

How to Apply:-

‘Student Handbook & Prospectus for Management Programme’ can be obtained from the Regional Centre ((RC) Madurai or the Learner Support Centers (LSC) listed below by sending a sum of Rs.550/- through a Demand Draft / IPO in favour of IGNOU payable at Madurai or by paying Rs.500/- in cash at the RC/LSC sale counters. Please write your name and address on the back of the DD / IPO, Last date for receipt of request for ‘PROSPECTUS’ by post is 25th December. 2010.

Filled in form for Entrance Test (Form 1) “OPENMAT-XXIX” must reach the Registrar (SED), Block 12, IGNOU, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi – 110068, by Registered Post/Speed Post on or before 31st December, 2010. OPENMAT Application form and prospectus can also be downloaded from the website: www.ignou.ac.in
